Collapsible die sets of rectangular section

Designation

Collapsible rectangular section die sets are used in the fragile samples production, when there is a probability of destruction of the sample with its removing from the matrix after its pressing.

The design feature of collapsible rectangular section die sets is that the matrix after its pressing is disassembled into 4 parts (walls), and the sample is removed from the stopper bottom. With a non-separable design, the sample is squeezed out of the matrix by the punch into the ring zone and if the material is brittle and little-plastic it may be damaged.

Advantages

• Grinding of all working surfaces of the matrix wall, plug and punch (Ra0.08) provides an ideal sample surface and eliminates sticking of the sample on the ends of the punches.
• Trapezoidal grooves in the matrix walls ensure reliable self-tightening of the structure.
